ABOUT WENDY

Wendy Reinert is a retired professional dancer and aerialist, personal trainer, life coach, world traveler, amateur rock climber and toddler mom (hi George!) whose mission is to help dancers get stronger, mentally and physically.

Wendy earned her BFA from NYU-Tisch School of the Arts in 2003 and spent 20 years as a freelance dancer performing with Peridance Ensemble, Kun-Yang Lin/Dancers, Cherylyn Lavagnino Dance, Mark Morris Dance Group and the Metropolitan Opera Ballet.

Soon after diagnosis of her first 2 injuries in 2006 (a labral tear and a stress fracture) she started her journey as a personal trainer at Equinox in NYC. While there, she earned certifications in pre/post-natal training and kettlebells, and began training in boxing and olympic lifting. She gained experience working with professional tennis players, golfers, marathon runners, desk-sitters and more.

After 4 years, she left Equinox and has since maintained her own private training business. She has extensive experience in training people recovering from major injuries and surgeries (knee and hip replacements, shoulder, wrist, hip and ankle injuries) as well as working with orthopedic issues (scoliosis, osteoporosis), and autoimmune disorders (Rheumatoid Arthritis, MS, EDS). Wendy is a NASM-Certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist.

In 2017, Wendy earned her coaching certification through the International Coaching Federation-Leadership That Works and founded Being A Dancer, which helps dancers navigate the emotional challenges of the industry. She is the coach on staff for the Steps On Broadway Conservatory Program and Peridance Center, and has lead workshops at The Juilliard School, NYU-Tisch School of the Arts, Marymount Manhattan, SUNY Purchase, The Hartt School, Idyllwild Arts Academy, and Irvine Valley College, among others. As a coach, she works one-on-one with dancers who are transitioning from student to professional and are looking to grow their confidence and ensure they have a successful dance career.

She currently divides her time training and coaching dancers on Manhattan’s UWS and on Zoom, and leading group workshops for dancers around the country.
